What’s your morning look like? For most of us, it getting up, drinking coffee and heading straight to our usual business. No doubt, coffee is of utmost necessity to wake us up and start the day (reducing the Melatonin in the bloodstream), but when we do this, we miss out on very advantageous opportunity of helping out the body to flush out the negative things that build up throughout the day and ignite that fat burning.
Drinking coffee, first thing in the morning has its implications. Firstly, coffee consists of caffeine, which is considered to be dehydrating. Dehydration causes fatigue and that’s why, we often feel lazy, or feel that we haven’t slept enough. Most often, it’s not the lack of sleep, but rather it’s our body deprived of water. Secondly, it inhibits the ongoing detoxing process. Throughout the night, the body uses water to carry out thousands of tasks, one of which is to throw out the toxins.
In the present age, detoxing is extremely essential. With all the pollution, stress and wrong eating habits, our body is exposed to many toxins, which is very harmful to our well-being. If this is neglected, it can accumulate to the point that it becomes very difficult to get rid of, thus posing a life threat.
So, drinking lots of water, as soon as we get up is one of the best ways to help the body process the waste. But what if we can accelerate the detox process as well as start churning that unwanted fat?
Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is the answer.

As many of us know, ACV is a vinegar that is obtained through fermentation of apple juice, which packs a variety of health benefits, ranging from detoxing to weight management. Although ACV is beneficial, if you are like me, you may not like the taste of it. Therefore, to spice it up, I started including other ingredients, that not only add taste to the mix but have their own potential benefits.
Morning Detox Drink
The primary ingredients being warm water with 15-30 ml of ACV. Other ingredients constitute of the following.
Ginger

Ginger attains the top position on the list and here’s why. Ginger has shown that it improves blood circulation. With better blood circulation, detoxification of blood cells advances.
Ginger consists of a chemical compound Gingerol. It increases the body’s temperature, amplifying the fat mobilization and hence, triggering the fat loss machine of the body. Along with this, ginger also consists of another compound called glut-4 receptors. These receptors consume glycogen (stored glucose), oxidise them to produce energy, again, showcasing ginger to be a super-food.
Green Tea

Yes, green tea. Research has proved that it is one of the healthiest beverages ever made. It constitutes similar health benefits like ACV.
Green tea contains catechins, that help lower cholesterol and clears plaque in blood vessels. Increasing the brewing time, augments the catechin percentage, but increases bitterness. Adding Stevia or honey will certainly mild the taste.
Greens Powder

Kale, Spirulina, Spinach contains higher levels of fibre. More roughage means higher detoxing power.
These powders are full of insoluble dietary fibre, that carry the unwanted food wastes through the digestive tract to get rid of it, enhancing detox.
Cinnamon

There are two kinds of cinnamon namely, Ceylon & Cassia. Cassia cinnamon is considered the best.
The reason I add cinnamon is not only to get that spicy taste but also, to boost the fat-burning potential. Cinnamon reduces fasting blood sugar, which means lower amounts of insulin. Lower levels of insulin forces the body to use stored fats as energy, hence, improving fat mobilization.
It also consists of sodium benzoate, which is shown to raise brain activity (certainly needed in the morning).
Stevia

Stevia is the only sweetener that I recommend, and the reason being is that it does not spike insulin, and as I said, lower insulin levels mean better fat mobilization.
However, you can go ahead and add any kind of sweetener you like, even honey. I personally stick with Stevia.
There are more ingredients that you can add to increase the potential power of this morning drink. These can include fenugreek juice, turmeric, cayenne pepper, garlic juice, lemon juice, etc. Try and test out with these ingredients and find what best suits your palate. After 30-45 minutes, you can consume coffee, which works well as caffeine also aids in fat circulation and brain function/alertness.
Please share this with your friends and family. Also, please let me know your thoughts and suggestions regarding this blog. Feel free to share your own morning drinks, so others could also learn.
